March for Life 2012 - Washington, DC

100_0200

Each year youth groups and parishes from across the Diocese of Charlotte make a pro-life stand by taking part in the annual March for Life Rally held in Washington, D.C. The Office for Youth Ministry works to assist groups needing transportation and lodging as needed. Often we assist groups to join others from the diocese who are going. If your group participates or want to participate in this historic respect life event, please contact the Office for Youth Ministry so we can help ensure that all who want to go can. One way we can do this is by connecting small and or fledgling groups with other groups who are experienced and know the ropes.

Bishops Jugis and Burbidge, the Roman Catholic shepherds of North Carolina will be celebrating Holy Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. All pilgrims from the Diocese of Charlotte are strongly encouraged to attend.

In 2012, for the first time, tickets for the Rally and Mass for Life (held at the Verizon Center and the DC Armory) will be distributed by the Office for Youth Ministry (OYM) of the Diocese of Charlotte. The OYM will need to submit numbers to the Archdiocese of Washington, by the end of September 2011. Therefore, if your parish plans on participating in these events, contact the OYM via email with your numbers by 29 September 2011. We may or may not get enough tickets to meet every request. Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. The OYM will also act as a broker between parishes and or groups who have tickets that will not be used and those in need of tickets. N.B. only written requests submitted by email are guaranteed to by honored.

All groups staying at a site owned by the Archdiocese of Washington will be required to submit a notarized "Protecting God's Children Complaince Affidavit" available below.
